Cloud Migration Specialist

This position involves planning, executing, and delivering comprehensive data migration projects from on-premises environments to Azure and between cloud platforms.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end data migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Design, implement, and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or other relevant services to extract, transform, and load data efficiently.
  • Migrate workloads, including databases, applications, and unstructured data, into Azure services while maintaining data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to configure Azure virtual machines, subnets, network security groups, and ExpressRoute/VPN connections for migration scenarios.
  • Develop and manage backup and restore solutions using Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vault, and Azure Site Recovery to ensure business continuity.
  • Evaluate and implement measures to safeguard data security and compliance during migration, incorporating encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, private endpoints, and VPNs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot migration performance, applying optimization techniques as needed to maintain efficient data transfer.
  • Document migration strategies, runbooks, and post-migration validation procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and repeatable processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in data migrations, with hands-on experience in on-premises to cloud and cloud-to-cloud workloads.
  • Proficiency in Azure migration tools (ADF, DMS, Storage Migration Service, AzCopy) and ability to leverage them effectively.
  • A solid understanding of networking and infrastructure setup (virtual machines, virtual networks, connectivity, ExpressRoute/VPN).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and common relational database management systems (RDBMS) migrations.
