Fiber Network Specialist Job Description

The role of Fiber Network Specialist plays a crucial part in our Engineering department, where the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the installation, splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables. The specialist will also perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to ensure network quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Hold a diploma or B.Tech degree in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or a related field.
  • Have 1-2 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of fiber technologies (single mode, multi-mode).
  • Be familiar with fiber splicing machines, OTDR, and related tools.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Understanding of FTTH, DWDM, MPLS, and backbone fiber networks.
  • Exposure to ISP/Telecom/Infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and industry best practices.
