Furniture Design Specialist - Export Market Focus

We are seeking a highly skilled Furniture Design Specialist to join our team. This role requires strong creativity and research-driven insights to develop new concepts that align with our manufacturing strengths.

The ideal candidate will have experience in furniture design, preferably in solid wood, and be proficient in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, and Rhino. They should also have knowledge of global furniture trends, ergonomics, finishing techniques, and joinery.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop original design concepts in solid wood (Mango, Oak, Acacia, Teak) aligned with our export strengths
  • Research customer preferences through past sales data, social media, and international market trends
  • Create production-ready drawings using CAD software
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sourcing teams to translate concepts into viable collections
  • Work with prototyping teams to refine joinery, finishes, ergonomics, and structural integrity
  • Incorporate KD (knock-down) joinery, export packaging standards, and compliance requirements

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in furniture design, preferably in solid wood
  • Strong skills in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino, etc.)
  • Knowledge of global furniture trends, ergonomics, finishing techniques, and joinery
  • Ability to translate abstract research into commercially viable designs
  • Good communication and presentation skills

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with reclaimed or sustainable wood materials
  • Understanding of packaging and shipping for exports
  • Familiarity with American and European design preferences
  • Prior experience with export-oriented furniture markets
