Teaching and Capacity Building

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as an Educational Expert in STEM subjects. As part of this role, you will be responsible for teaching and capacity building programs for teachers in STEM.

This involves conducting high-quality workshops and courses using progressive pedagogical and adult learning methodologies. You will also be required to prepare capacity building program plans in STEM and provide inputs for the preparation of the academic calendar.

Apart from this, you will coordinate with other subject teams for planning and executing the STEM programs. This includes analysing feedback on training programs received from teachers and other training participants and incorporating it in subsequent trainings.

You will also be required to provide direction for the STEM program in alignment with current educational policies and guidelines such as NEP 2020 and NCFTE 2009.

Content Development:

As part of your responsibilities, you will develop a detailed program framework, teaching plan, and workshop modules for effective implementation based on a background study of relevant national and international reference material.

You will also be required to develop program materials for short-term as well as intensive courses. Furthermore, you will strengthen the Resource Centre and develop subject-specific resource material including teacher manuals, interactive models, TLM, reference material, assessment tools, etc.

In addition, you will regularly update the developed resources on the basis of conducted action research/primary or secondary research or other academic reading and writing.

Research and Development:

Another key responsibility is to develop research-based specialized content and instructions to achieve workshop goals and objectives. You will also conduct training need assessments, baseline and end-line assessments for checking the effectiveness of the program.

Furthermore, you will conceptualise, design and conduct research/s on regular basis. You will explore the latest methodologies, resources, and approaches in the field of education and expertise area to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the program modules and other resources.

Lastly, you will conceptualise and produce academic writings in the subject domain.

School Visits and Direct Intervention in Schools:

You will regularly observe classroom sessions at various schools to understand the impact of the programs. Additionally, you will plan and provide on-site support to selected teachers in schools in the respective subject.

Moreover, you will engage intensively with a cohort of teachers for understanding the factors required for effective change in teaching practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

Another important responsibility is to document and report the progress on allocated tasks. You will prepare and submit training reports, classroom observation reports, events, and other reports.

You will also contribute to the development and publication of Annual Report, Newsletter, and other publications.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have at least 3-6 years of relevant experience in capacity-building programs in Teacher Education. A M.Sc. (Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry), B.Ed or an equivalent degree is required for this position.
