Backend Engineer Role Overview

We're building out a full engineering team in India to accelerate our financial services company's success. This team will work closely with international engineers to strengthen existing products and build new lines.

You'll collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to design and maintain technologies, including API backends, credit scoring systems, payment integrations, and operations tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building APIs and backend systems for mobile apps.
  • Integrating with third-party systems, including payment gateways and messaging platforms.
  • Developing new financial products.
  • Scaling backend services to handle growing traffic and complexity.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong experience (3-8 years) of building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Experience leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including computer science principles, distributed systems, data storage, and agile methodologies.
  • A pragmatic approach combining technology expertise and product understanding to find the best solution.
  • A highly entrepreneurial mindset taking ownership and initiative to solve problems.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience designing scalable data architectures integrating disparate data sources.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python.
