Network Protocol Test Engineer Role

In this challenging position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and performance of our network protocols.

  • You will design and execute comprehensive Network layer functional and system tests for various product lines, analyzing results thoroughly.
  • Continuous testing will be key to evolving test strategies based on features and issues, guaranteeing exceptional product quality.
  • Automation of QA-owned tests will be driven forward, significantly improving efficiency and management processes.
  • You will own regression test areas, safeguarding product integrity despite code changes.
  • To enhance test efficiency/management, you will contribute to the development of tools and solutions.
  • Analyzing issues by debugging test scripts written in Shell, Perl, or Python will be crucial to resolving defects and ensuring smooth operations.
  • The ideal candidate will identify defects, owning them through resolution and verification cycles, and effectively communicate project and testing status to stakeholders.

About This Opportunity

  • We are seeking a highly skilled individual with expertise in computer science or a closely related field, preferably holding a Bachelor's/Master's degree.
  • A minimum of 4-10 years of QA experience is required, with specialized knowledge in test engineering, including strategies/plans, execution, reviews, and customer issue debugging.
  • Familiarity with network protocols such as Routing, Switching, IPv4/v6, DHCP, DNS, TCP/UDP, Policing, Shaping, AQM, CoDel, and QoS is essential.
  • Experience with networking tools like IPerf, Xena, TRex, IXIA, VIAVI JDSU, Unix/Linux environments, and test automation using Python is necessary.
  • A self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to learn new technology quickly, and adapt to new feature testing/new assignments rapidly is crucial.
  • Good understanding of QA processes and Agile methodologies, along with strong analytical/debugging skills, are must-haves.
  • Jira and Confluence experience is a plus.
