Civil Project Engineer

• Our ideal candidate will be responsible for finalizing Basic and Detailed Engineering concepts (Civil/Structural & other fields) and ensuring Quality construction standards.
• They will review and approve Civil/Structural/Building elevation drawings & documents supplied by the consulting firm, as well as supervise onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety laws.
• The selected engineer will perform in-depth project reviews to schedule work and estimate costs, identify latest construction trends, material, quality, reliability, cost etc. and prepare drawing and documents required for statutory approvals.
• A key responsibility will be conducting weekly project coordination meetings with all consultants and contractors, mediating any conflicts that arise and resolving technical hurdles during project executions.
• Additional duties include ensuring construction activities move according to predetermined schedules, communicating effectively with contractors and co-ordinating the efforts of all parties involved in the project.
• The chosen candidate must maintain alignment to budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards and ensure project documents are complete.
• A successful project manager is expected to lead and communicate job expectations and deadlines well, deliver civil design inputs timely and effectively and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction from key customers within the country.
• Achieving high quality performance management processes and implementing positive cultures are also crucial for this role.
• Maintenance of full compliance for Novartis and specific Quality, HSE and BCM Standards and Timely resolution of organizational and operational issues are also required.
• Last but not least, engineers have a duty to conduct follow-up meetings on a regular basis and ensure everybody is on track.
• It's essential to deal with any slackness there and then, so there is no delay in completion of the project.
• The selected engineer should have the ability to multi-task and make project reports on a timely basis, thereby documenting the progress.
• Associate should see to it that all the civil projects under his supervision are going on smoothly.
• This role requires works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes, performing all work in accordance with established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements.
• Also identifying bottlenecks activities and overcoming them for smooth project activities, tracking and implementing the changes while not compromising project timelines.
• Furthermore, selecting tools, materials and equipment and tracking inventory, analysing, managing and mitigating risks ahead to prevent problems, delays etc. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods are also necessary.
• Lastly, constructions material reconciliation, measurement / quantity finalization are some of the responsibilities of the role.

• Bachelors / Masters degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 5 - 8 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/ Chemical/ FMCG Industry with deep understanding of Civil construction Projects, building services, Civil infrastructure, Building maintenance services within pharmaceutical Formulation & API facility
• Hands-on experience of Project management like - Project planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Construction management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, Safety Management & required Statutory approvals management
• Proficiency in English - other languages are an advantage with Sound digital literacy (MS office, MS project, SAP, PM-Tools)
