Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Optimization Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping us write and optimize in-application SQL statements to ensure performance, security, and availability of our databases.

">

You will work closely with our team members to prepare documentations and specifications, profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweak as necessary. Your collaboration with other stakeholders will involve translating business needs to technical specifications and designing, building, and deploying BI solutions (e.g., reporting tools).

In addition, you will maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g., MicroStrategy), create tools to store data (e.g., OLAP cubes), conduct unit testing and troubleshooting, evaluate and improve existing BI systems, collaborate with teams to integrate systems, develop and execute database queries, and conduct analyses.

Your strong proficiency in SQL and its variations among popular databases will be crucial in this role. You should also have experience with modern relational databases, skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements, and knowledgeable about best practices when dealing with relational databases.

Able to configure popular database engines and orchestrate clusters as necessary, you should have proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist. Industry experience is preferred, with a background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining.

With an in-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework, you should be familiar with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI) and knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Our estimated salary for this position is $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
