Job Description

As a senior mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient designs for various mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in plumbing, HVAC, and firefighting system design, as well as proficiency in Building Information Modelling tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for troubleshooting complex issues and providing effective solutions.

Excellent communication skills are also necessary for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, with 8-15 years of experience in the relevant field.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (B.E/B.Tech/master's in mechanical)
  • Experience: 8 to 15 years in Plumbing/HVAC & Firefighting
  • Knowledge of International Plumbing design codes
  • Proficiency in Revit and ability to work in BIM environment
  • Ability to design appropriate plumbing systems for the project including domestic water, sanitary, storm water, hot water, gas systems
  • Ability to perform calculations as directed by senior engineer
  • Ability to design plumbing system layouts, including pipe sizing and equipment selection
  • Ability to select air distribution components
  • Ability to coordinate HVAC designs with other disciplines
  • Ability to apply knowledge of international codes and standards in HVAC system design
  • Ability to plan and design HVAC systems considering energy efficiency, sustainability, and indoor air quality
  • Ability to prepare design reports, specifications, take-off sheets and bill of quantities for HVAC systems
  • Ability to attend meetings with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, collaborate with various disciplines to ensure coordinated project delivery
  • Ability to participate in project meetings, provide technical insights, resolve engineering issues
  • Specialized coursework or certification in HVAC systems is advantageous
  • Proven experience in HVAC system design, heat load calculations, equipment selection, system optimization
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, refrigeration cycles
  • Familiarity with a variety of HVAC equipment, controls, components
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex HVAC issues
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
