Job Title: Data Solutions Specialist

We are seeking an experienced data solutions specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

This position plays a key role in designing and developing software solutions using Java and other big data technologies. As part of a squad, you will be actively working on strategic and challenging projects, including the implementation of Agile software development methodology.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and unit-test software solutions using Java and other big data technologies.
  • Integrate, deploy, maintain, and improve software solutions.
  • Perform peer code review and actively participate in squad activities and ceremonies.
  • Apply continuous integration best practices in general SCM, build automation, unit testing, and dependency management.
  • Collaborate with other squad members to achieve Squad Sprint objectives.
  • Report progress and update Agile team management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in big data development with strong programming skills in both functional and OOP.
  • Desired experience in distributed architectures or cloud.
  • Passionate about big data technologies and delivery of effective solutions through creative problem solving.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala and Java.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, HDFS, Hive, Impala, and data formats like Avro and Parquet.
  • Expertise in functional programming and OOP design patterns.
  • Distributed architectures or cloud experience.
