Job Title: Purchasing Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished leader to oversee our sports accessories buying and merchandising team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in product curation, sourcing, and innovative accessories development for sports and activewear collections.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective end-to-end buying strategies for sports accessories.
  2. Drive sales growth and profitability through strategic merchandising decisions.
  3. Identify emerging market trends and capitalize on opportunities to stay ahead of competitors.
  4. Negotiate with vendors to ensure quality products and competitive pricing.
  5. Analyze market data and sales performance to inform decisions and optimize inventory levels.
  6. Collaborate with design teams to develop new products meeting customer needs and expectations.
  7. Manage inventory levels and forecast demand to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
  8. Ensure product quality and regulatory compliance through thorough inspections and testing.
  9. Conduct competitor analysis and market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  10. Lead and mentor the buying and merchandising team to drive growth and success.

Qualifications:

  1. NIFT graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as fashion or textiles.
  2. Minimum 7 years of experience in the sports and activewear industry, with a focus on accessories buying and merchandising.
  3. Proven track record of success in driving sales growth and improving profitability through effective merchandising strategies.
  4. Strong understanding of domestic and import supplier base, including ability to negotiate with vendors and manage supplier relationships.
  5. Keen eye for trends and excellent analytical skills to analyze market data and make informed decisions.
  6. Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities to drive business results and build strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office and relevant buying/planning software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  8. Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive growth and success.
