Financial Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented financial accounting specialist to join our team.

This role is crucial in managing the firm's financial operations, ensuring compliance with US taxation and accounting standards.

  • Fund Accounting:
  • Manage day-to-day fund accounting activities, including maintaining general ledgers, journals, and financial statements for the firm.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Oversee fund performance tracking, including cash flow management, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • US Taxation Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with US taxation laws for venture capital firms, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in US tax regulations affecting the firm's operations and investor relations.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings and tax planning.
  • Payroll Management (Indian Employees):
  • Oversee the payroll processing for Indian employees, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage the calculation of salaries, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and handle all related administrative tasks.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits, providing insights into the financial health of the firm.
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure that financial operations comply with relevant regulations, including fund reporting and tax filings.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for all financial transactions, audits, and tax filings.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in financial accounting, fund accounting, or a related role, with a strong understanding of US taxation for venture capital firms.
  • Experience in payroll management for Indian employees, with in-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.
