Job Overview

At Kov Technologies, we specialize in delivering top-tier talent across enterprise platforms. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to support our clients in architecting, optimizing, and scaling their AWS Redshift environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead architecture review and validation for multiple AWS Redshift clusters
  • Validate sizing assumptions and provide right-sizing recommendations
  • Define and implement operational excellence best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting)
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and health metrics for Redshift platforms
  • Analyze and optimize query performance (workload patterns, schema design, tuning)
  • Establish schema governance and define change management/version control processes
  • Define a clear, auditable process for deploying new tables, columns, and views

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in data engineering or database administration with deep hands-on expertise in AWS Redshift.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and experience working with Redshift
  • Strong background in query performance tuning, schema optimization, and workload management
  • Expert-level knowledge of Redshift fundamentals: table design (Distribution and Sort Keys), WLM tuning, vacuum operations, concurrency scaling
  • Ability to develop and implement operational best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting)
  • Demonstrated expertise in schema governance, version control, and structured change management
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills—able to clearly articulate solutions to technical and business stakeholders
