Job Title: Database Administrator

Overview: We are seeking an innovative and experienced database administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale MySQL databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily operations to support business needs.
  • Optimize database performance by analyzing and improving SQL calls.
  • Collaborate with management to develop performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Recommend solutions for process improvement.
  • Experience with SQL and stored routines is required.
  • HA Proxy, ProxySQL, or MaxScale experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AWS database technologies like Aurora, RDS is beneficial.
  • Monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes.
  • Maintain relationships with technology team members, external partners, and vendors.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate, and correct data and database issues.

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of MySQL management experience is required.
  • Experience in MySQL configuring HA and clustering solutions is essential.
  • Large-scale MySQL deployments are necessary.
  • MySQL sharding architecture and techniques are a must.
  • Ability to work with Linux/Unix based OS environments.
  • MS SQL experience is a plus.
  • Software as a service industry experience is a plus.
  • Cloud experience is beneficial.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and professional skills are required.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and anticipate customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, set, and implement priorities and manage multiple tasks.
