Pensions Systems Consultant Role Summary

As a Senior Pensions Systems Consultant at Equiniti, you will provide consultancy services to internal and external software and administration clients in all aspects of Pensions Systems Configuration. You will act as either a workstream lead on projects or technical design authority, mentoring and developing other team members, and enforcing best practice and standards across the department.

Core Responsibilities

  • Undertake Technical Design Authority role in projects requiring significant design input.
  • Provide consultancy to clients on the application of Equiniti software for new requirements, upgrades, changing legislation, or changes to client schemes.
  • Provide consultancy to project teams on all aspects of system design and implementation.
  • Support project teams by attending client meetings and internal meetings as requested.
  • Monitor systems design and implementation to ensure consistency of approach and re-use of previously developed ideas and software.
  • Identify individuals with potential for promotion to more senior roles.
  • Provide mentoring support to help others develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislation, participate in its collation and interpretation, and assist in the formulation and roll-out of product system solutions in response to changes.
  • Effectively manage demands of several concurrent projects.
  • Identify and nurture individual staff development and training, considering best fit with Company direction and annual budget.
  • Be aware of contractual requirements to clients and their implications on work being undertaken.
  • Design and provide solutions fit for purpose and in line with budgetary constraints.
  • Be technically competent in software tools and programming languages as required.
  • Ensure adherence to systems development standards.
  • Encourage others to be positive and highly motivated.
  • Be approachable and responsive to colleagues and users, with an open-minded and constructive approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate effective and probing appraisal of situations, consulting with relevant parties in resolving issues.
  • Be self-motivated, demonstrating tenacity and objectivity in problem-solving to get the job done effectively.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Senior Pensions Systems role.
  • Experience of Pension scheme calculations, configuration, or data migration.
  • Pensions domain expertise, ideally across both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution.
  • Client-facing experience.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills.
  • >5 years experience within the Pensions Industry.
  • Preferably educated to degree standard with good A-levels as a minimum.
  • Relevant Pensions Industry qualifications (e.g. PMI).
