We seek a hard-working leader in software verification and validation who will define the scope, design automated and manual tests for bioinformatics' software. This role requires strong coding skills, validated understanding of Quality Assurance principles, and Continuous Integration methods. You will own strategies for test APIs, user interfaces, web services, and/or web apps and write performance, load, and stress tests.

You will participate in an Agile/SCRUM setting to meet customer expectations and drive quality improvements. Collaborating with users and other team members to brainstorm approaches to validating systems is key. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be passionate about creatively exercising your problem-solving skills to ultimately improve the human condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement software testing strategy, methods, and best practices that enable high-quality NGS analytics and instruments software products.
  • Lead and mentor a group of bioinformatics and software test engineers.
  • Establish software quality standards and metrics to measure software product quality.
  • Implement software quality tracking tools and methodologies to provide updates on ongoing work and actions during the software development lifecycle.
  • Partner with software and bioinformatics leadership, functional, and project managers to identify the appropriate scope of software testing and validation.
  • Partner with internal and external collaborators to drive requirements for regulated assays and software.

Requirements:

  • Masters/PhD preferred or Bachelors with minimum 10 years of work experience and a consistent record of industry efficiency. Experience performing software verification and validation testing, preferably in the medical device/biotech space.
  • Strong understanding of NGS-based software, IVD assay development practices, and informatics data analysis pipelines.
  • Strong leadership abilities and extensive experience handling software quality engineering and quality assurance teams. Experience leading multi-functional, multi-site teams preferred.
  • Experience in software development methodologies or processes.
  • Ability to work well with senior leadership and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and comparable roles in the United States.
