Senior Automation Tester

\

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in automated testing and experience with Selenium WebDriver and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin).

Key Responsibilities:

\
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD.
  • Perform automated testing to ensure product quality across web, API, and integration layers.
  • Write feature files with clear, business-oriented scenarios and maintain reusable step definitions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Implement and maintain Page Object Model (POM) for scalable and maintainable automation.
  • Build and extend core framework utilities such as wrappers, waits, retry mechanisms, and driver handling.
  • Ensure clean code practices in test automation frameworks (SOLID principles, OOP concepts).
  • Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to overall process improvements.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Selenium WebDriver:
    • Deep knowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling, and synchronization issues.
  • BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin):
    • Writing business-readable feature files and mapping steps correctly to ensure reusability and modularity.
  • Java (or framework language):
    • Strong OOP concepts (inheritance, abstraction, polymorphism) and clean code practices with SOLID principles.

Framework & Layer-Specific Skills:

  • Step Definitions:
    • Designing high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic and ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Page Object Model (POM):
    • Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory and writing maintainable locators and encapsulating UI interactions.
  • Core Framework (Wrappers, Waiters, Driver handling):
    • Building wrapper methods around Selenium APIs and implementing custom waits, retry mechanisms, and driver utilities.

Additional Skills:

\
  • Hands-on experience with manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, UAT) and API testing using Postman/RestAssured.
  • Strong understanding of test planning, test design, and defect management.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines and integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in automation testing.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
