Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient acquisition of data from various sources.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop crawlers and parsers to extract relevant data.
  • Perform troubleshooting and fixes as required to ensure data quality.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in programming languages such as Ruby or Python, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Basic knowledge of web development or web scraping and working with JSON/XML files.
  • Familiarity with large data sets and various DBMS (MySQL, Cassandra).

What You Will Do After Training
  • Work on high-load scripts for collecting and processing large amounts of data.
  • Collect data from publicly available sources and private channels.
  • Perform validation and customization of collected data according to customer requirements.
  • Participate in the design and development of internal tools and processes.
Our Expectations From The Right Candidate
  • SQL: Writing Simple Queries Using Subqueries or Joining Tables (JOIN).
  • Ruby: knowledge of the language syntax and basic data structures (arrays, hashes), working with classes and modules, working with files (CSV, XML, Excel, JSON).
  • Basic knowledge of any OOP programming language.
  • Ability to use developer tools (Firebug, Google Chrome dev tools).
  • Excellent proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Flexibility to work in shifts either earlier in the day or later to maximize overlap with Eastern European teams.
