Cash Application Specialist Job

We are seeking a skilled Cash Application Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and reconciling account receivables and remittances.

  1. Process and reconcile account receivables and remittances, ensuring timely and accurate payment application.
  2. Collaborate with the customer and stakeholder teams to identify customers' requirements and provide solutions.
  3. Work closely with the collection and billing group for non-applied payments, communicating with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and GL teams for all non-AR transactions.
  4. Prepare daily reports on collections, bank reconciliation, and perform periodic audits of the general ledger and other financial documents.
  5. Address payment issues such as double payments or other discrepancies, process refund internally (supplier) and externally (client refunds), and research unallocated payments.
  6. Manage mailboxes and process monthly netting requests, monitor factoring payments, and invoice offsets.
  7. Perform month-end closing of the current AR period and opening of the new period, engaging in collection management processes as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent relevant courses.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in cash applications or similar roles.
  • Excellent investigation and problem-solving skills, including detailed analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and databases, with proficiency in time management and multitasking.
  • Able to handle stress, work independently, and contribute to broader team objectives.
