Senior Technical Manager Job Description

The Senior Technical Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of concrete products by overseeing quality control and production at batching plants and sites.

  • Monitoring and maintaining testing frequency of outgoing concrete and incoming concrete materials as per the issued Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
  • Conducting trial mixes for admixture, cement and materials appraisals to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Creating mix codes and sale orders in Tally as per the given Mix Design Specification Document (MDSD) or customer specification based on the purchase order issued.
  • Monitoring preventive maintenance of batching plant, diesel generator, Air compressor, and pump to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Verifying and signing the registers maintained by production officers to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Ensuring slump/yield tests are conducted for the first vehicle of each job by production officers.
  • Monitoring consistency of concrete batched (slump test) by production officers, witnessing minimum one test at plant or at site and signing the same.
  • Managing/assigning duties and responsibilities to production officers, laboratory technicians, and customer support officers to optimize team performance.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels of materials at the batching plant for production of concrete.
  • Maintaining health and safety protocols and conducting inductions of workmen at plant and site, keeping records of the same.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping in and around the plant to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Responding to customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitoring job schedules by the site office and providing inputs for timely starting and operational issues at site.
  • Verifying batch records of daily batched concrete and signing the same.
  • Arranging for concrete compressive strength testing and issuing reports accordingly.
  • Visiting sites and meeting customers during the day's job operation to witness slump tests and cube casting.
  • Coordinating daily/weekly/monthly stock takes and preparing stock reports.
  • Collecting and compiling signed invoices for the day's job.
Experience & Qualification Required

A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Ready Mix Concrete is essential.

Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification is preferred.
