As a highly skilled Digital Systems Designer, you will be responsible for creating and implementing complex digital systems from scratch. Your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership

  • You will collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and specifications.
  • Develop DSP, system, and board architecture based on customer needs.
  • Oversee projects from concept to delivery, including risk identification, dependency management, creating mitigation plans, tracking project schedules, and discussing designs with customers.

Algorithm Optimization

  • Optimize algorithms for implementation in FPGA and/or software.
  • Identify building blocks and signal processing functions.

Design and Development

  • Provide estimates on FPGA resources, computation bandwidth, and memory bandwidth.
  • Create module-level details from architecture, coding, simulation, and perform peer reviews.
  • Apply methodologies for design, verification, or validation.

Documentation and Support

  • Develop, create, and maintain all project-related documentation, especially design documents with detailed analysis reports.
  • Offer support to customers during integration phases at test sites and support to production teams.

Requirements and Skills

  • Thorough understanding of Xilinx FPGAs.
  • Experience with VHDL knowledge and Xilinx tools for synthesis and implementation.
  • Functional simulation expertise.
  • Hardware design skills, including logic design and debugging.
  • FPGA design experience with VHDL/Verilog RTL coding, System C/System Verilog.
  • Knowledge of FPGA synthesis and PAR tools.
  • Ability to implement DSP algorithms in FPGA environments for radar and electronic warfare systems.
  • Modeling algorithms in Octave/MATLAB, generating test vectors, and visualizing data.
  • Working knowledge of interfacing with ADCs and DACs and interpreting their performance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
