Primary Responsibilities

Accounting and Finance

  • Oversee the daily operations of the finance department, ensuring efficient financial management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate hotel financial planning and budget management functions, including financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies, ensuring timely and cost-effective financial management.
  • Prepare annual reports of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Analyze financial outlooks and prepare financial forecasts, informing business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions, ensuring informed and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures, driving financial performance and excellence.
  • Maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Serve as primary legislative liaison relative to company financial issues, representing the company's interests and advocating for financial well-being.
  • Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements, ensuring financial integrity and transparency.
  • Conduct regular checks on procedures for purchasing, receiving, storing, issuing, food preparing, and portioning, maintaining high standards of financial management and control.

Team Management

  • Interview, select, and recruit direct reports, identifying and developing talented individuals to drive financial excellence.
  • Identify and develop team members with potential, providing training, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage performance issues that arise within the management team, ensuring a high-performing and motivated team.
  • Constantly monitor team members' performance, attitude, and degree of professionalism, providing feedback and coaching to drive improvement.
  • Work with the Talent & Culture function to ensure appropriate hiring, training, motivating, coaching, counseling, and development of team members according to the changing needs of the business.
  • Conduct monthly departmental meetings to provide information to team members, obtain their feedback, rectify issues, and provide a regular forum for department communication.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend all briefings, meetings, and trainings as assigned by management, staying informed and up-to-date on financial matters and company policies.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times, representing the company with professionalism and integrity.
  • Be aware of the hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the assigned by the Management, supporting the company's financial goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Additional certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting position or 2 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • High degree of professionalism with strong understanding of business acumen.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Fully conversant in accounting principles and financial regulation standards.
