As a Data Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for innovating and developing new capabilities in data science, data analytics, eCommerce, automation, cloud computing, and information security.

The successful candidate will work closely with product owners/managers to understand business needs and collaborate with architects, data modelers, and other team members to design technical details of data engineering jobs/processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements
  • Design and implement data engineering solutions using cloud-based technologies
  • Lead sessions with data engineers and provide guidance on solving complex technical challenges
  • Develop and maintain data processing components including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and management
  • Contribute to establishing and refining data engineering best practices
  • Support and troubleshoot data environments, tune performance, and document technical artifacts
  • Promote good interpersonal skills and adaptability in dealing with different teams within the organization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in data engineering leadership role
  • Advanced SQL queries, scripting, and data modeling skills
  • Experience building data marts, data lakes, and warehouses
  • Cloud-based data warehouse solutions experience (Snowflake, Azure DW, or Redshift)
  • DevOps models utilizing CI/CD tools
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure
  • Talend, Apache Airflow, or TWS, Azure Data Factory, and BI tools like Tableau
