Senior Hosting Product Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our hosting product specialist team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and reliability of our products.

  • Maintain the stability of our products using various internal tools.
  • Provide first- and second-level support for all hosting products (cPanel/Plesk/VPS/Cloud/Dedicated).
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with various products/services.
  • Communicate effectively on tickets, phone calls, and emails about various issues.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Built advanced automation workflows for automating repeated issues.
  • Collaborate with our infrastructure team to deploy and maintain Linux/Windows servers using automated scripts and predefined runbooks.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational standards are met.
  • Liaise with engineering teams for root cause analysis (RCA), permanent resolutions on issues affecting production sites.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Linux administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux Systems, Shell/Bash, sed/awk/grep/egrep, VI/VIM/Emacs, netstat, lsof, strace, ps/top/atop/dstat, grub boot config & systems rescue, fstab/disk labels, ext3/ext4, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc.), run-levels & startup scripts, sudo/chroot/chkrootkit/rkhunter.
  • Basic DNS & Networking, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing Concepts.
  • Application Protocols: SMTP, HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP.

Preferred Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • An understanding of Cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Systems/Hardware: RAID, LOM/IPMI/IP KVMs, Dell Hardware.
  • Knowledge of Windows: WMI, Powershell/VB scripts, MS-SQL Fundamentals.
  • Experience with Applications: Postfix/qmail/Exim, Database Systems Fundamentals (MySQL/Postgres), Nginx/Apache (mod_php, mod_fcgid, CGI, php-fpm etc.), Tomcat.
  • Skills with Tools/Utilities: Nagios, DHCP, Kickstart/Cobbler, Yum, RPM, GIT/SVN.
  • Proficiency in Regular expressions, Rescue Kits like TRK, etc.
