Job Description

We are seeking a talented engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge observability solutions. As a Cloud Development Engineer, you will design and develop observability solutions for Pega Cloud-hosted applications, ensuring seamless monitoring and performance.

  • Design and develop observability solutions for Pega Cloud-hosted applications.
  • Responsible for microservices monitoring used in Pega Cloud services.
  • Enable observability monitoring capabilities - metric collections, logging, and APM (tracing) with applications hosted in Pega Cloud service.
  • Be familiar with Open Telemetry standards for distributed tracing, open metric collection. Define KPIs, SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for microservices.
  • Manage and maintain monitoring Pega tools and technologies.
  • Correlate Pega infrastructure and application metrics, error codes, and logs; end-to-end monitoring from customer request, load balancer, backend services; and synthetic monitoring.
  • Work with Engineering towards achieving common goals of availability monitoring, performance monitoring, application monitoring, and enabling correlation between infrastructure and application/services/technologies.
  • Operate, administer, and automate solutions on Pega Cloud Stack.
  • Responsible for problem discovery, analysis, and resolution. Use world-class Pega cloud infrastructure and management technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Passionate about cloud technologies and well-versed with Observability tools such as Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, New Relic, etc., along with AWS core concepts and services.
  • Have knowledge with infrastructure-as-code delivery model.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps, continuous integration, and development (CI/CD) tools & Jenkins.
  • Managing the development of deliverables into production environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
