Marine Operations Associate Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Operations Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the fleet, coordinating with various departments, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and assisting in the scheduling and execution of voyages.

This role involves managing documentation, liaising with clients, and supporting the team in achieving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Charter Compliance: Monitor vessels under time charter to ensure compliance with charter party terms.
  • Cargo Documentation: Collect cargo documents from vessels at load/discharge ports.
  • Vessel Performance Evaluation: Evaluate vessel performance in charterers' format.
  • Freight Invoicing: Prepare freight invoices and demurrage claims.
  • Log Submission: Ensure timely submission of deck and engine logs.
  • Invoice Processing: Raise invoices for charter hire, freight, bunker reimbursement, and demurrage.
  • Operational Support: Assist vessel Operation Superintendent in day-to-day work.
  • Agency Selection: Select and approve agency representatives.

Requirements:

  • Strong Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of marine operations, chartering, and shipping regulations.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including vessel operators, charterers, and other departments.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
