Role Overview

The Merchandiser will be responsible for overseeing the entire merchandising process in woven garments, requiring strong coordination skills, costing knowledge and ability to deliver products that meet buyer specifications, quality standards and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the design team for seasonal collections as per customer requirements.
  • Develop samples, negotiate prices and confirm orders with buyers.
  • Process material orders according to timelines, focusing on cost reduction.
  • Excellent attention to detail, independent worker, adaptable to changing environments and challenges.
  • Experience in handling both small and high-value businesses.
  • Effective communication with customers, vendors and internal teams.
  • Technical expertise in woven garment manufacturing of various categories like shirts, jackets and bottoms.
  • Strong leadership/management experience.
  • Demonstrate high ownership and commitment to all job responsibilities for result-driven achievements.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in textiles, apparel merchandising or fashion technology.
  • 1-8 years of experience as a merchandiser in a woven garment factory (buyer handling experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of woven fabrics, garment construction, costing and production processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MIS systems.
  • Ability to multitask, handle pressure and meet deadlines.
