Technical Application Support Specialist

Job Summary:

This is a dedicated technical professional role responsible for monitoring and supporting front office and middle office applications in Investment Banking.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Incident Management:
    • Primary contact for application support including front office and middle office applications.
    • Rapid response to system alerts incidents and user-reported issues.
    • Incident investigation and analysis to determine root causes.
    • Troubleshooting and issue resolution for technical issues related to applications databases and integrations.
    • Collaboration with development teams for fix implementation and enhancements.
    • Status updates provided to stakeholders on ongoing incidents.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Management:
    • Maintenance of accurate records of incidents solutions and changes in production environment.
    • Creation and update of support documentation knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Change Management and Release Support:
    • Assistance in planning and execution of application releases and updates.
    • Conducting impact assessments for proposed changes to production systems.
    • Adherence to change management processes and policies.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in supporting business applications.
  • Familiarity with AWS.
  • Proven experience in similar roles providing technical support for enterprise-level software applications.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and ITIL processes.
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of programming languages scripting languages (Shell Python etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
