Senior Backend Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in architecting and scaling our platform as we pursue our mission to healthify a billion people.



As a senior team member, you will drive technical decisions, mentor junior developers, and help shape our engineering culture.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend architectures and microservices.
  • Leading complex technical projects from conception to delivery.
  • Establishing coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
  • Mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews to ensure code quality.
  • Collaborating with product and infrastructure teams to optimize system performance.

You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies including:

  • Python and its internals.
  • Django framework, including custom middleware development and optimization.
  • Database systems (MySQL, MongoDB) including query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
  • Caching solutions (Redis) and message queues.
  • AWS cloud services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS).
  • Containerization (Docker) and container deployment and management tools (ECS).
  • Monitoring tools and APM solutions (New Relic, Coralogix).

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Have a proven track record of leading technical initiatives and delivering large-scale projects.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and providing technical leadership.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in high-growth or startup environments.
  • Proven experience building and scaling applications handling millions of users.
