Fleet Operations Manager Job Description

The role of Fleet Operations Manager involves overseeing the coordination and planning of fleet management, ensuring timely train handovers between the depot and the operator. The position ensures safety, performance, and customer satisfaction by managing train availability and depot operations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily fleet availability, train movements for maintenance, arrivals, departures, and shunting.
  • Ensure fit trains are available to the Depot Control Centre as per the operational plan.
Customer Interface
  • Serve as a single point of contact with the operator and employer for daily depot operations.
  • Liaise with internal teams for Rolling Stock maintenance needs.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Submit timely reports and notices to customers in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Provide up-to-date information on fleet status to internal departments and customers.
Train In/Out & KPI Management
  • Manage inbound and outbound train movements with proper documentation.
  • Define and implement fleet strategy per contractual Key Performance Indicators and business requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronics or equivalent
  • Knowledge of metro or railway maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with maintenance planning systems
  • Strong communication and report-writing abilities
Experience Requirements
  • 4–5 years in Metro/Railway Fleet Coordination or Maintenance
  • Locomotive/Train operations experience
Languages:
  • Proficiency in Hindi and English
