Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced taxation professional to lead our team in preparing and reviewing complex financial services client returns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex financial services client returns, including hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds.
  • Review state returns for financial services clients.
  • Identify international filing requirements through organizational chart analysis and review international tax returns.
  • Train new hires on concepts, technology, and provide timely feedback on project reviews.
  • Supervise kick-off calls to understand clients, facilitate regular connections with US counterparts, and resolve budget and resource conflicts.
  • Guide staff on potential tax adjustments due to law changes and e-filing validations.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor team members.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and high-quality work through consistent learning.
  • Foster a team environment to achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop and deliver training materials on technical topics.

Requirements:

  • Independent tax research skills in unseen scenarios.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learner, positive attitude, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during busy seasons.
  • Meeting deadlines and adapting to project urgency.
  • Multi-tasking and handling multiple projects efficiently.
  • Training and supervising staff to meet project needs.
  • Guiding subordinates through technical challenges.
  • Building relationships with peers, supervisors, and US colleagues.

Position Requirements:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (US) or IRS Enrolled Agent.
  • Detailed review experience of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and Case ware.
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience, particularly in financial services returns.
