Desktop Support Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operating System Installation and Configuration: Install and configure operating systems across devices to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Hardware Maintenance and Repair: Assemble, upgrade, and troubleshoot computer hardware components to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Software Support and Backup: Install, configure, and backup standard applications including MS Outlook, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Network Infrastructure Management: Install and troubleshoot network printers, VPNs, and firewalls to maintain a secure and efficient network environment.
  • Cybersecurity: Implement BitLocker encryption, update antivirus software, and manage virus protection to safeguard against potential threats.
  • Active Directory Management: Create user accounts, reset passwords, update group policies, and control access permissions to ensure secure and organized directory management.
  • Remote Assistance: Provide remote support for software and system-related issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Asset Management: Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware issues and maintain accurate inventory records for hardware and software assets.
