ERP Project Manager Role Overview

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering ERP projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

  • Project Planning & Execution:

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for ERP implementations. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that align with business goals.

ERP Implementation Leadership:

Lead full-cycle ERP implementations from initiation through to go-live and stabilization. Drive continuous improvement and system optimization post-deployment.

Team Management:

Lead and coordinate internal cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, consultants, and business stakeholders. Provide strong leadership, coaching, and direction to ensure team alignment and accountability.

Stakeholder & Change Management:

Communicate project milestones, status updates, risks, and issues to all relevant stakeholders. Manage expectations and ensure stakeholder engagement. Support organizational change management and training efforts to facilitate smooth user adoption.

Risk & Issue Management:

Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies. Develop and execute risk response and contingency plans.

Quality & Compliance:

Ensure ERP solutions meet business, functional, and technical requirements. Oversee QA processes including testing strategies, validation, and audits.

Vendor & Partner Management:

Evaluate, select, and manage vendors and implementation partners. Monitor vendor performance to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

Budget & Cost Control:

Manage ERP project budgets effectively, ensuring optimal use of resources. Monitor project financials and report on budget performance.

Requirements:

  • 1. 5+ years of experience in managing ERP projects.
  • 2. Proven track record of successful ERP implementations.
  • 3. Deep understanding of ERP methodologies, system architecture, and integration points.
  • 4. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • 5. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • 6. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, vendors, and teams.
  • 7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • 8. Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 9. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Certification).
