Senior Engineer - Financial Data Platforms

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex data pipelines that drive business insights and inform strategic decisions.

This role requires a strong background in Snowflake, SQL, and dbt, as well as experience working with financial systems and data governance frameworks.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Engineering: Develop and maintain scalable data warehouses and ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake and dbt.
  • Financial Systems Integration: Integrate financial systems to support revenue recognition, reconciliations, and accounting processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with finance and accounting teams to translate business requirements into technical designs and data solutions.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior engineers and share best practices for Snowflake and dbt usage within the team.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform roles, preferably with financial systems.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing, performance tuning, and secure data sharing.
  • 2+ years of dbt experience (building models, transformations, testing, and documentation).
  • Strong SQL development skills with focus on efficiency and maintainability.
  • Experience working with financial or accounting data, translating business requirements into data pipelines.
  • Understanding of accounting concepts (e.g., revenue recognition, double-entry principles) and ability to partner with Finance/Accounting teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar).

Nice To Have:

  • Familiarity with Snowflake utilities (Snowpipes, Streams, Tasks).
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Exposure to data governance and compliance requirements in financial reporting.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Interest in financial forecasting, predictive analytics, or ML as applied to Finance.
