About the Role
As a Risk Manager on the Risk Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) team at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in protecting customers from products that are illegal or otherwise restricted by Amazon policies. Your primary responsibility will be to design, create, and deploy internal tools and technology to mitigate risk and ensure customer safety.

Key Responsibilities
1. Perform risk reviews to meet compliance and risk goals, supporting internal business units to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
2. Respond to reported violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative and corrective procedures.
3. Monitor and coordinate compliance activities with worldwide stakeholders, identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
4. Develop and implement corrective action plans for problematic issues, providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
5. Work with various Amazon teams to formulate strategy, seek automation opportunities, and leverage technologies to link all programs to business metrics and build solutions accordingly.
6. Collaborate with internal teams to drive tools, best practices, and process improvements that affect classification speed of the program.
7. Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.

Key Performance Areas
1. Establish SOPs, process controls, recommend revisions, and ensure alignment with risk and regulatory requirements.
2. Measure key metrics, process, or control risk to inform product and program-level risk assessment.
3. Maintain subject matter expertise and current industry knowledge to operationally execute risk management programs.
4. Deliver business goals for processes handled and ideate new initiatives for risk mitigation, partnering with product and science teams to develop new work streams.

About the Team
The Compliance Health team acts as the pulse of Worldwide Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) function. Our primary role is to develop and implement processes that mitigate risks associated with our product catalog. We spearhead efforts to establish risk metrics, standardize procedures, and streamline processes across all teams within RISC.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2. Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent.
3. Experience handling confidential information.
4. Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials (preferred).
5. Experience with SQL and Excel (preferred).
6. Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements (preferred).
