Job Overview

Mission Statement

  • As a Sustainability Manager, your role entails ensuring adherence to environmental regulations, conceptualizing impactful projects, fostering partnerships with NGOs, and collaborating with local stakeholders to address community needs. You must also support employee social initiatives, oversee CSR audits, and effectively communicate CSR efforts both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Compliance Governance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, including relevant government acts.
  • Manage CSR initiatives under the company's CSR policy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support audits and documentation related to CSR compliance and reporting.
  • Track and report CSR spending as per legal requirements. Conduct periodic impact assessments of CSR initiatives for large-scale projects.

Project Conceptualization Implementation

  • Identify and implement CSR projects aligned with the company's thematic focus areas.
  • Conduct due diligence of NGOs and partners to ensure alignment with organizational policies and objectives.
  • Work closely with local stakeholders to assess community needs and design impactful interventions.
  • Manage project execution, monitoring, and impact assessment.

Stakeholder Engagement Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government officials, village leaders, and industry bodies, to maximize the impact of CSR programs.
  • Facilitate employee participation in social initiatives through an Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) platform.
  • Support social initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and CSR objectives.

Reporting Communication

In partnership with Group Communications:

  • Develop and publish the annual CSR report on the company website.
  • Create internal and external communication materials, including impact stories, and CSR updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in CSR, or social impact roles, preferably in the manufacturing sector and in geographies such as Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Orissa, Haryana, West Bengal.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental laws, reporting requirements, and best practices.
  • Experience in NGO due diligence, partnership management, and project execution.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • English fluency, other languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
