Job Overview

This role plays a pivotal part in championing climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives. As a Sustainability Specialist, you will oversee project management of Scope 3 greenhouse gas calculations and climate change strategy.

  • The successful candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure a holistic approach to climate mitigation and adaptation planning, particularly related to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage projects focused on climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to align strategies and ensure a comprehensive approach.
  • Develop and implement tailored climate change policies that cater to organizational and regulatory requirements.
Scope 3 GHG Emissions Management

  • Lead Scope 3 GHG emissions calculation projects, working collaboratively with teams and providing guidance on data collection and reporting.
  • Develop methodologies and training programs (in collaboration with third parties) to ensure consistency and accuracy of data and its reporting.
  • Coordinate with relevant global and local teams to ensure timely and accurate data submission.
Compliance and Risk Management

  • Monitor compliance with climate change regulations, reporting requirements, and standards.
  • Escalate issues, risks, and instances of non-compliance promptly to the sustainability steering committee.
  • Ensure timely submission of climate-related disclosures and responses to regulatory bodies.
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Familiarity with climate adaptation and mitigation frameworks.
  • Experience with sustainability reporting tools and standards.
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in sustainability, climate change, or environmental management, with a focus on GHG accounting and project coordination.
