Content Editor - Education Expert

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Content Editor to join our editorial team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for education and a keen interest in student affairs and youth trends.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with senior management on content strategy, team performance, and editorial planning.
  2. Develop engaging educational content focused on careers, innovations, student initiatives, and campus life.
  3. Contribute fresh story ideas and support field reporting when necessary.
  4. Work closely with designers and digital teams to ensure timely and quality content delivery.
  5. Lead and mentor a team of writers and interns to maintain quality and consistency across all content.
  6. Plan and structure content for Edex print and web editions with the editorial team.
  7. Assign tasks, track progress, and provide editorial feedback to team members for growth and improvement.
  8. Evaluate content for accuracy, clarity, and grammar before publication.
  9. Stay updated with current education trends, policies, and issues impacting education.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
  2. 8 – 12 years of experience in journalism, preferably with a focus on education, youth, or career-related content.
  3. Strong editing, writing, and storytelling skills with impeccable grammar.
  4. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple assignments effectively.
  5. Familiarity with digital publishing tools and social media platforms is an added advantage.
  6. A keen interest in education and youth affairs is essential.
  7. Proven experience in handling and leading teams is a significant asset.
