Job Title: Technical Service Engineer Expert

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Service Engineer Expert to join our team at Fujitsu. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our backup and recovery systems, as well as providing technical guidance and support to our IT team members and end-users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and schedule backup jobs to ensure regular and timely backups of critical data and systems.
  • Monitor backup processes, troubleshoot issues, and resolve failures or errors.
  • Perform backup quality checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain backup policies and procedures to comply with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define backup and recovery strategies.
  • Perform regular tests and audits of backup and recovery processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure backup and recovery processes align with data protection and security policies.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to backup and recovery systems.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Backup Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of backup technologies and tools (Primary: Commvault, Secondary: NetBackup, Veeam).
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Configuration of Backups for different applications and Databases like SQL, Exchange, VM, Oracle, SAP, MySQL, O365(Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams) and NAS.
  • Knowledge on Commvault backups and recovery on AWS, Azure, and other cloud vendors.
  • Troubleshoot Client backup, restore, storage etc. issues.
  • Proficient with backup administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and implementation.
  • Possess good understanding on deduplication, synthetic backup, and data sizing etc.
  • Performing standard and test restores of requested files, folders, databases, VMs.
  • Performing disaster recovery test.
  • Create and update documentation, actively build teams knowledge base.
  • Perform in line with agreed procedures, SLAs and meet customer expectation.
  • Solid understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and backup methodologies (incremental, differential, full).
  • Experience with cloud backup solutions and services (e.g., Azure Backup, AWS Backup) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
