Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a seasoned senior backend developer with expertise in Java, Spring Boot and REST API development to join our team. This is a critical role for anyone passionate about designing, developing and maintaining high-performance, secure backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Docker, Jenkins and modern CI/CD pipelines; Kubernetes experience is a plus. They should also have experience in cloud-based deployments, ideally on Oracle Cloud or similar platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Requirements:
  • 7–10 years of strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
  • Proficiency with Oracle DB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including complex queries and database performance optimisation.
  • Deep understanding of backend architecture, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Jenkins, and modern CI/CD pipelines; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
  • Experience in cloud-based deployments, ideally on Oracle Cloud or similar platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Expertise in Git, version control workflows, and collaboration tools.
  • Proven experience in debugging, profiling, and performance tuning of backend applications.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, encryption, authentication/authorisation flows, and regulatory compliance in fintech.
  • Practical understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write technical documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
