Job Title: Senior Automation Quality Assurance Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Automation Quality Assurance Specialist. This role involves leading the development of scalable automation frameworks, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin).
- Perform both manual and automated testing to ensure product quality across web, API, and integration layers.
- Write feature files with clear, business-oriented scenarios and maintain reusable step definitions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage.
- Implement and maintain Page Object Model (POM) for scalable and maintainable automation.
- Build and extend core framework utilities such as wrappers, waits, retry mechanisms, and driver handling.
- Ensure clean code practices in test automation frameworks (SOLID principles, OOP concepts).
- Identify, document, and track defects, providing detailed root cause analysis.
- Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to overall process improvements.
Required Skills & Expertise:
Core QA Automation Skills
- Selenium WebDriver (Advanced): Deep knowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling, and synchronization issues.
- BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin): Writing business-readable feature files and mapping steps correctly.
- Java (or framework language): Strong OOP concepts, clean code practices, and exception handling.
Framework & Layer-Specific Skills
- Step Definitions: Designing high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic.
- Page Object Model (POM): Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory, writing maintainable locators, and encapsulating UI interactions.
- Core Framework: Building wrapper methods around Selenium APIs, implementing custom waits, and driver utilities.
Additional Skills
- Hands-on experience with manual testing, API testing, and test planning.
- Strong understanding of test design, defect management, and CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in automation testing.
