Position: Trader of Opportunities

Summary:

We are seeking experienced traders with a proven track record of managing their own books and delivering consistent, risk-adjusted returns. This role is designed for traders looking to scale their strategies within an institutional platform while retaining autonomy in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing long and short equity positions with capital efficiency, risk discipline, and return optimization.
  • Deploying and refining trading strategies (quantitative, technical, fundamental, thematic, or hybrid) to consistently deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.
  • Quantitative / Market Neutral:

A strong background in statistical modeling, factor research, and systematic trading is required.

Experience in market-neutral and relative value strategies is essential.

  • Technical / Discretionary:

Proficiency in charting, trend analysis, and short-term market timing is necessary.

Proven success in managing directional long/short portfolios.

  • Fundamental / Thematic:

A deep research capability across industries and sectors is required.

Ability to identify structural long-term themes and asymmetric opportunities.

  • Risk Management:

Implementing disciplined risk controls, hedging strategies, and position sizing is crucial.

Adjusting portfolio exposures dynamically to market conditions.

  • Performance Tracking:

Reporting P&L alongside risk metrics (e.g., Sharpe, Sortino, drawdown profile) is essential.

Continuously refining strategies through post-trade and factor analysis.

  • Collaboration:

Working with the broader team to share insights, co-develop strategies, and leverage the firm's infrastructure is important.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable track record of generating strong risk-adjusted returns while profitably running a trading book (individually or at a fund/prop desk).
  • A degree in engineering, CA, CFA, MBA, or a graduate degree in finance, economics, or related field (preferred, not mandatory for strong performers).
  • Strong analytical and research skills across fundamental, quantitative, or technical domains.
  • Familiarity with algorithmic execution, data-driven decision-making, and trading platforms.
