Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Senior Quality Assurance Specialist.

This position requires strong expertise in both manual and automation testing, with deep experience in building scalable automation frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, working closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to design and implement effective test strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin).
  2. Testing: Perform both manual and automated testing to ensure product quality across web, API, and integration layers.
  3. Feature File Management: Write feature files with clear, business-oriented scenarios and maintain reusable step definitions.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage.
  5. Page Object Model: Implement and maintain Page Object Model (POM) for scalable and maintainable automation.
  6. Core Framework Utilities: Build and extend core framework utilities such as wrappers, waits, retry mechanisms, and driver handling.
  7. Clean Code Practices: Ensure clean code practices in test automation frameworks (SOLID principles, OOP concepts).
  8. Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects, providing detailed root cause analysis.
  9. Mentorship: Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to overall process improvements.
Required Skills & QualificationsCore QA Automation Skills:
  • Selenium WebDriver (Advanced): Deep knowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling, handling synchronization issues, stale elements, and workarounds.
  • BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin): Writing business-readable feature files, mapping steps correctly to ensure reusability and modularity.
  • Java (or framework language): Strong OOP concepts (inheritance, abstraction, polymorphism), clean code practices with SOLID principles, exception handling, and custom exception creation.
Framework & Layer-Specific Skills:
  • Step Definitions: Designing high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic, ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Page Object Model (POM): Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory, writing maintainable locators and encapsulating UI interactions.
  • Core Framework (Wrappers, Waiters, Driver handling): Building wrapper methods around Selenium APIs, implementing custom waits, retry mechanisms, and driver utilities.
Additional Skills:
  • Manual Testing: Hands-on experience with manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, UAT).
  • API Testing: Experience in API testing using Postman/RestAssured.
  • Test Planning: Strong understanding of test planning, test design, and defect management.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in automation testing.
  • Automation Frameworks: Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
