Electrical Systems Engineer - Power Electronics

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems engineering and power electronics, with experience in designing and developing high-voltage battery systems. Responsibilities:

  • System Development: Lead the end-to-end development of power electronics systems including DC-DC converters, onboard chargers (OBC), inverters, and battery management interfaces.
  • System Architecture: Define system architecture and component specifications for high-voltage (400V–800V) battery systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, thermal, and systems engineering to ensure seamless integration.
  • Simulation and Modeling: Oversee simulation, modelling, and analysis of power electronics circuits using tools like PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, or LTspice.
  • PCB Design: Guide PCB layout for high-power designs ensuring EMI/EMC compliance and thermal management.
  • Prototype Testing: Drive validation and testing of prototypes in lab and vehicle environments.
  • Component Evaluation: Evaluate and select components such as IGBTs, SiC/GaN FETs, gate drivers, magnetics, and capacitors.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, AEC-Q100, and functional safety.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews and design documentation.
  • Problem-Solving: Act as the point of authority for complex engineering problems.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ Years in a HV Systems engineering, Battery management System design, lead position.
  • Skills: Agile methods, JIRA, SCRUM, KANBAN, Vehicle system interfaces, Integration, High-voltage systems, Safety protocols, Thermal management.
