Job Title: Okta SME

We are seeking an experienced Okta Subject Matter Expert to join our growing Identity and Access Management team.

  • This individual will serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Okta solutions across projects.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Okta Identity Cloud, including hands-on experience in architecture, implementation, integration, and support of Okta-based solutions in complex enterprise environments.

About this Role:
  • Design, configure, and implement Okta Identity Cloud features including SSO, MFA, Lifecycle Management, Universal Directory, and API access management.
  • Integrate Okta with various applications (cloud and on-prem) using SAML, OIDC, SCIM, and other protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Okta solutions across projects.
  2. Design, configure, and implement Okta Identity Cloud features.
  3. Integrate Okta with various applications.
  4. Work closely with client stakeholders, engineering teams, and security leads to define access control strategies and identity workflows.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to authentication, authorization, and provisioning.
  6. Conduct health checks, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning of Okta environments.
  7. Develop documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and runbooks.
  8. Stay current with industry trends and Okta product developments to continuously improve solutions.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of overall experience in IAM with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Okta Identity Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of SSO, MFA, OAuth2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and API security.
  • Experience with Okta Workflows, custom scripting, and identity automation.
  • Familiarity with integrating Okta with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Workspace, Office 365).
  • Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO27001, GDPR).
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Okta certifications (such as Okta Certified Professional or Okta Certified Consultant) are a strong advantage.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with adjacent IAM tools like SailPoint, Saviynt, or CyberArk.
  • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript) for automation and customization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native IAM practices.
