Senior Project Lead

Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

• Responsible for executing complex projects across multiple business lines, focusing on skid, equipment, and module design.

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop a detailed understanding of customer specifications to ensure seamless integration into the P&ID/MFD and detail engineering design.
2. Lead internal and external Design Reviews, including P&ID reviews, 3D Model Reviews, and Constructability reviews based on project scope.
3. Hold regular meetings with discipline engineering team members/detail designers/fabricators to address project development status and resolve challenging technical requirements.
4. Coordinate equipment procurement activities with the engineering team (modules, vessels, exchanges, rotating, instrumentation, and miscellaneous equipment).
5. Create technical requisitions for the detailed engineering design and module fabrication in line with project requirements.
6. Manage the fabrication process and partner with fabricators to deliver equipment that meets customer expectations.
7. Support module fabrication by providing onsite support to resident engineers.
8. Manage technical interfaces with customers, detail designers, fabricators, and internal discipline teams.
9. Coordinate document submittals to/from customers, detail designers, and fabricators.
10. Responsible for assembling and issuing Manufacturing Data Books.
11. Manage project quality plans.
12. Identify steps to improve engineering quality and productivity, minimize detail design and fabrication change orders.
13. Provide sales support for pursued project opportunities.
14. Domestic/international travel to customer and supplier sites (20% annually, 1-2 weeks duration, based on project requirements).
15. Accountable for working with Senior Project Engineers, multi-discipline engineering and design teams to execute modular process plant projects.
16. Share lessons learned and suggest improvements to infrastructure (UOP specifications and standards, work procedures, etc.).
17. Responsible for overseeing engineering and design workhour budgets, project workhour forecasts, engineering schedules, and design quantities against budgets.
18. Key client interface for project technical issues, including project design review meetings, 3D Model reviews, constructability reviews, and closeout for modular projects.
19. Assist project management with quantity tracking and trending, change management, and schedule reviews.
20. Oversee cross-functional teams in assembling and submitting subcontractor work packages for equipment manufacturing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Design, or Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in project engineering or design engineering roles focused on mechanical equipment, modulization design of systems used in petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing, and/or renewable industries.
• Experience in projects, design engineering, or construction in petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing, or renewable industries.
• Self-motivated individuals able to lead teams who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment.
• Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and ability to adjust priorities quickly.
• International, multi-cultural experience.
• Project engineering experience with an EPC contractor.
• Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional Certification.
• Project Controls experience (Cost and/or Schedule).
