About the Role:
  1. We are seeking a skilled Dimensional Management Specialist to define measurement systems, locator strategies, and tolerance specifications for Body in White components and exterior trims in line with styling and manufacturing requirements.
  2. The successful candidate will ensure the robustness of measurement systems from part fabrication to complete BiW.
  3. Responsibilities include analyzing functional requirements of Body in White and creating measurement strategies for the fitment of modules.
  4. Candidates must discuss and align tolerance concepts with stakeholders.
  5. Performing tolerance stack-up studies 1D, 2D, or 3D during the development phase to identify potential risks in production and provide solutions in terms of measurement strategy, alignment strategy, tolerance specification, assembly sequence, or design is crucial.
  6. Executing tolerance simulations in 3DCS to replicate the production process digitally, using correct probability distributions in relation to manufacturing processes, and validating the robustness of the concept is essential.
  7. Ensuring quality and timelines of every delivery in the project is vital.
  8. Creating gap and flush plans and concepts to ensure visual quality of the vehicle is also necessary.
  9. Discussion with cross-functional teams for incorporating feedback and providing solutions is required.
  10. Creating and aligning sub-module integration concepts to ensure fitment and fulfill production planning requirements is crucial.
  11. Creating and aligning closure integration concepts in line with gap and flush plans to fulfill requirements is also essential.
Requirements:
  1. A good understanding of 3D tolerance simulation tools, preferably 3DCS.
  2. A deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  3. An understanding of perceived quality.
  4. An understanding of manufacturing processes in Body in White.
  5. An understanding of assembly operations in automobiles.
  6. An understanding of different measurement systems and inspection methods.
  7. A working proficiency in NX software.
