Global Trade Specialist

The role of a Global Trade Specialist involves overseeing the import process, ensuring timely and efficient execution. Key responsibilities include pre- and post-documentation, insurance certificate generation, and communication with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review export invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Generate insurance certificates and maintain insured amount balances.
  • Handle hazardous cargo, including understanding Hazard Classes, Packing Groups, and preparing Dangerous Goods Declarations.
  • Coordinate with factories, CHAs, forwarders, transporters, shipping lines, and customers.
  • Negotiate air or sea freight with forwarders, shipping lines, or CHAs.
  • Review and approve shipping documents, including SB checklists and AWB drafts.
  • Coordinate flight or vessel bookings with freight forwarders.
  • Arrange courier shipments through DHL or FedEx.
  • Understand Letter of Credit (LC) Shipments and ensure compliance.
  • Regularly review and understand SCOMET and Narcotics requirements for every shipment.
  • Resolve queries from export customers efficiently.
  • Arrange transport for FCL shipments and factory stuffing.
  • Apply for Preferential and Non-preferential COOs online.
  • Efficiently handle multiple shipments at a time.
  • Send final shipment documents to customers and track cargo delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records for all export shipments, including EGM and RODTEP benefit status.
  • Understand RODTEP Scrip generation and other DGFT/ICEGATE applications.
  • Arrange relevant packing considering shipment nature, especially for dangerous goods.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including HS codes, tariffs, and taxes.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
