About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Architect to lead the development and maintenance of our Ruby on Rails application. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing system architectures that meet our business needs.

As a Senior Architect, you will have extensive experience in Ruby on Rails development, including knowledge of its principles and best practices. You will also be proficient in MySQL database administration, including schema design, optimization, and maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading efforts to maintain and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of our Ruby on Rails application.
  • Monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum performance.
System Maintenance and Optimization:
  • Design and implement effective system architectures that meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and coding standards.
Database Management:
  • Manage the MySQL database backend, including schema design, query optimization, and data migration tasks.
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
Microservices Integration:
  • Oversee the integration of microservices into the application architecture, ensuring seamless communication and efficient data exchange between components.
  • Design and implement APIs for microservices interaction, adhering to best practices for security and performance.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to manage the deployment and scaling of application components on AWS and GCP.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure resources to balance performance, cost, and scalability requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails development, with a deep understanding of its principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in MySQL database administration, including schema design, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture patterns and experience integrating microservices into complex applications.
