Job Title:

Cloud Data Systems Architect

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Systems Architect to lead the development and management of large-scale data systems.

This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and compliant cloud-native platforms.

They will partner with cross-functional teams to define priorities and solve challenges.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing end-to-end data pipelines leveraging AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and SageMaker.

They will implement data product storage, processing, and APIs using AWS-native tools and serverless architectures.

Additionally, they will use AWS Lake Formation for fine-grained access control and secure data sharing across domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect multi-tenant, domain-oriented data lakes and integrate with Redshift Spectrum / Athena for distributed querying.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Drive platform governance, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams.
  • Mentor team members on secure coding practices, compliance, and architectural principles.
  • Lead design reviews and technical discussions to ensure secure and scalable implementations.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based data systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and SageMaker.
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and compliant cloud-native platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members.
